
Bellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on 19 February 1970.) was an American actress, producer and singer who is best recognized for her role as Melody "Mellie", Grant on ABC's drama show Scandal (2012)-2018. In recognition of her performance, she received the Critics' Choice Television Award for the Best Supporting actor in a Drama Series in 2014. In 2019, she starred in the role of Prodigal Son on Fox. Young began her professional profession as an actor in the theatre. Young made her Broadway debut on Broadway in the year 1997 in the role of Mary in The Life's initial ensemble. In addition, she has performed Off-Broadway in Stephensondheim's musical Merrily We Roll Along (1994) and in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). [3][10] In 1995, she made her TV debut on a recurring character on The NBC daytime soap opera Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. In 1997 and 1998, she played two guest roles in the show Law & Order. She debuted in a film in 1999 with a minor role on Black and White, a crime drama. Then she appeared in numerous independent films. She began guest-starring on a number of television dramas and comedy series in the early 2000s. They included The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young has had more than 30 appearances on TV series between 2000 and 2011.
